The Lido

The Lido project at Sand Valley has been a topic of conversation in the golf world from the minute it was announced. To take a course lost almost 100 years ago and try to recreate it from past photos and blueprints? Leave it to the team of historian Peter Flory, the Keiser family and designer Tom Doak to take that on. For the full story of The Lido, CLICK HERE TO READ UP.

After playing the course, there is no doubt in my mind that this is as close to the original feel of the original Lido as you could possibly get. The most exciting thing I found as a golfer was how vastly different the course felt, looked, and played versus the other courses at Sand Valley. It is a totally different experience which should excite any traveling golfer. That being said, it is NOT for the faint of heart. You are bound to get into at least a couple of spots that you do not want any part of. The visuals are very intimidating. Many of the greens are elevated, making you feel like there is nothing there. Only after traversing many of the holes do you see how massively big most of the greens are. The Lido is as advertised!
