JASON KAUFLIN
I was born and raised in Dayton, Ohio. I hacked it around on the golf course during my early years, but never took the game seriously until I got into the workforce. My wife and I moved to Wisconsin about 20 years ago. When our daughter, Rachel, was born in 2002, I left a successful sales career to become a stay-at-home dad. Staying home with the kids was great (Kevin was born in 2005), but it left a big gap in my brain where all that work stuff used to be. One thing I did to fill that mental void was start focusing on my golf swing. Trying to improve my golf game moved up very high on my priorities list.
In 2001, I talked three buddies into flying out to Mesquite, Nevada for a three day golf trip. We had so much fun that we invited a few more guys the next year. What is now known as the Kauflin Invitational was off and running! The trip grew into a large scale operation with over 40 participants on a couple of ocassions. What started with a love for golf, and an equal interest in hanging out with my buddies, turned into a passion for planning the perfect golf trip. I handle every detail involved with organizing the trip and have gotten very good at it over the years.I get to know the general managers, pros, and staff at each course that I work with, and that effort is reflected in how my group is treated.
For years I had considered trying to turn my passion for booking golf trips into a viable business.  But it wasn’t until 2011 when it was announced that Erin Hills would host the 2017 U.S. Open that my dream really took focus. I figured groups like mine would see how incredible Erin Hills was on TV, and then realize how close Whistling Straits and Blackwolf Run were on the map of Wisconsin up in Kohler. I had everything in place for Wisconsin Golf Trips before the Sand Valley project was announced in north central Wisconsin. That was like icing on the cake to now have three world-class golf destinations to offer.  People are shocked to hear that Wisconsin has 10 of the Top 100 public courses in the United States. There is no doubt that Wisconsin’s footprint in the world of golf destinations will continue to increase dramatically over the coming years.
I am now working with groups from pretty much all over the world on custom packages to Wisconsin. Wisconsin Golf Trips has booked packages for singles all the way up to groups of 40 or more. I am a proud member of the International Association of Golf Tour Operators and have made connections all over the world with operators looking to bring their groups to my home state. I am also part of a committee involving both Travel Wisconsin and Visit Milwaukee to promote our entire state as one golf destination to the international golf community. I am very proud of what Wisconsin Golf Trips has become, and am very excited for what the future holds.
There is absolutely NOTHING I enjoy more than a satisfied customer. Allow me use my knowledge and experience to plan the ultimate Wisconsin golf trip for you. I have the course contacts, lodging research, and transportation options all lined up. All you have to do is tell me what kind of trip you are looking for, and I will make it happen.
