Lac La Belle
The Club at Lac La Belle has become one of the best golf experiences in the greater Milwaukee area over the past few years. You can read all you want on the Club at Lac La Belle website regarding the history of the property. But it is quite a different experience to take a look at all the memorabilia and history in person that is on display in the clubhouse. Long story short, two immigrants who were members of Carnoustie in Scotland at the end of the 19th century eventually made their way to the Oconomowoc area. These gentlemen not only founded one of the oldest clubs in America, but competed for many of the first U.S. Open trophies handed out.
The main course has tons of variety and many of the green complexes are roller coaster rides. There is a lot to take in on the course, and just as much when you are done. The Rivalry Pub has a great patio section overlooking the putting course at Lac La Belle. You can’t miss it, it is the massive green with a giant Scots Pine right in the middle of it.
And now you also have Uncle Henry’s Backyard Par 3 Course to add to your experience. With some of the wildest green complexes you will find and an amazing bar area to watch the golfers come in, Uncle Henry’s is a must! I think any group heading to Wisconsin would enjoy having the courses at The Club at Lac La Belle as part of their itinerary!
