Thornberry Creek at Oneida
Thornberry Creek Golf Course is the official course of the Green Bay Packers. and is located just west of Lambeau Field. The course offers 27 holes, and what amazes me is the abundance of different holes on the property. On the Legends 18-Hole Champion Course, you see just about everything. Elevation changes, target golf holes, blind shots, wide open fairways…it definitely keeps you on your toes.
I’m not sure I can think of another course that starts and ends so tough. The starting hole is a medium length par 4 that is famous for it’s Green Bay Packers logo painted at the corner. Don’t be distracted, you need to put a good first swing on the ball as the downhill approach is no joke. And the finishing stretch is no bargain either. After a long par 3 17th tucked into a nest of trees, you have to focus and put your tee shot on the par 4 18th through a shoot to an uphill green.
The clubhouse and restaurant/bar area at Thornberry Creek Golf Course is second to none. One of the best 19th Hole situations around. The staff is extremely engaging and everything is run very professionally. I especially appreciated being led to the first tee box by the starter and given our instructions at the tee. Thornberry Creek Course offers a tremendous golf experience.
